Seaworld, Gold Coast

Sea World is a marine mammal park, oceanarium, and theme park located on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. It includes rides, animal exhibits and other attractions, and promotes conservation through education and the rescue and rehabilitation of sick, injured or orphaned wildlife. Sea World provides a magical setting for any group size, offering the opportunity to get up close and personal with marine life wonders, be excited by thrilling rides or simply relax.

Students will visit exhibits that allow them to see young dolphins develop under the protective watch of their mothers, view polar bears, as well as meet, feed and learn about some of the ocean’s most misunderstood inhabitants. The tour requires students to exchange dialogue with the staff whilst making friends with marine and other wildlife.

Australia Zoo, Sunshine Coast

The Australia Zoo in a 100-acre zoo located on the Sunshine Coast, approximately a one-hour drive north of Brisbane. Made popular by the legendary Steve Irwin, the zoo is home to anything and everything Australia related. From exotic birds, kangaroos and koalas, to endangered reptiles and amphibians, the Australia Zoo offers an abundance of wildlife and fauna experiences. Visitors can view crocodile feedings and participate in elephant feedings, as well as greet kangaroos, wallabies, and koalas face to face. Students will be invited to chat with Australia Zoo staff in relation to wildlife conservation and describe their thoughts and feelings through verbal practices.

Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, Brisbane

Rated one of the “Top 10 Zoos in the World” by AOL, Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary in Brisbane, Australia, is the world’s first and largest koala sanctuary, with over 130 koalas. Cuddle a koala anytime, hand feed kangaroos and encounter a large variety of Aussie wildlife, all in beautiful, natural settings. Students will adapt their English communication skills to connect with zoo staff in order to cuddle with the koalas.

Dream World, Gold Coast

Dreamworld is a theme park situated on the Gold Coast. It is Australia’s largest theme park with over 40 rides and attractions, including five roller coasters. The park is made up of several themed lands: Ocean Parade, DreamWorks Experience, Wiggles World, Gold Rush Country, Rocky Hollow, Tiger Island and the Dreamworld Corroboree. Within the park exists a collection of rides, animal exhibits, shows, food outlets and merchandise shops. Students will communicate with other students about their feelings of thrill and excitement, whilst ordering a meal of their choice from one of the many food outlets.

Movie World, Gold Coast

Movie World is a popular movie related theme park on the Gold Coast containing various movie-themed rides and attractions ranging from motion simulators to roller coasters and slow river rides. Movie World aims to give students the opportunity to gain a greater knowledge and understanding of the theme park entertainment industry. In addition, costumed character performers also patrol the park, allowing visitors the chance to take photos with them. Students will be requested to ask one of these characters to take a photograph with them. Students will also discover how they can benefit through social interaction and confidence building activities using Theatre Sports.

Southbank Barbeque, Brisbane

South Bank is a cultural, educational and recreational precinct in Brisbane. It is located in the suburb of South Brisbane, on the southern bank of the Brisbane River. A number of Brisbane’s most popular restaurants and fashion boutiques are located in Southbank. South Bank has plenty of picturesque picnic areas and free barbecue facilities surrounded by shady trees and have stunning views of the Brisbane River and city skyline. Students will freely interact and engage with each other as the Bespoke Grammar staff cooks an authentic Australian barbeque.
